This Privacy Policy explains how Casuals by Caleb(“we”, “us”) collects, uses, shares and protects your personal data when you use casuals by caleb’s website and order from us. We are committed to handling your data in accordance with the Data Protection Act, No. 24 of 2019 of Kenya and its regulations.

Who we are

Casuals by Caleb is a footwear retailer based at Nairobi, Kenya (Elegant Mall, Moi Avenue, Shop C10). For any privacy question or to exercise your rights, contact us on WhatsApp at +254 115 169054.

What data we collect

We practise data minimisation — we only collect what we need to fulfil your order:

• Order details you provide: your name and phone number, and the items, sizes and colours you choose.
• WhatsApp conversation data when you message us to place or discuss an order (handled within WhatsApp, operated by Meta).
• Technical data automatically collected to run and secure the site, such as approximate location, browser type and pages viewed.

We do not take card or bank details on this website. There is no online payment — payment is arranged directly with you on delivery or collection.

How we use your data

We use your data only to: process and confirm your order; arrange delivery or pickup; respond to your enquiries; keep the website secure and working; and meet our legal obligations. We do not sell your personal data.

Legal basis

We rely on your consent (when you choose to send us an order) and on the performance of a contract with you (fulfilling the order you place), as provided under the Data Protection Act, 2019.

Who we share it with

• Meta Platforms — when you message us, your order is delivered through WhatsApp, subject to Meta’s own privacy terms.
• Delivery partners / couriers — your name, phone and delivery address, only to get your order to you.
• Technology providers — our website host (Vercel) and database (Supabase) process data on our behalf to operate the site.

Some of these providers may process data outside Kenya; where they do, appropriate safeguards apply.

How long we keep it

We keep order-related data only for as long as necessary to fulfil your order, handle any follow-up, and meet legal or tax obligations, after which it is deleted or anonymised.

Your rights

Under the Data Protection Act, 2019 you have the right to:

• be informed of how your data is used;
• access the personal data we hold about you;
• have inaccurate or incomplete data corrected (rectification);
• request deletion of your data (erasure) in certain circumstances;
• object to or restrict our processing, including for any direct marketing;
• data portability — receive your data in a commonly used format.

To exercise any of these, message us on WhatsApp at +254 115 169054. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner (ODPC), Kenya, at odpc.go.ke.

Cookies & local storage

We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. Your bag and saved items are stored in your own browser’s local storage on your device, purely so the site remembers your selections — this data is not sent to us until you choose to send an order.

We may update this policy from time to time. The “last updated” date above shows the latest version.
